Reagan Visual Arts offers 4 courses which should be taken in sequence. Students are required to take MYP Art History and earn at least a C both semesters to be eligible for Junior DP 1 Art.
Freshman year students will take MYP Art Foundations which covers foundational skills: various drawing techniques, sculpture and color theory.
Sophomore year students will take Art History in which they will learn how to evaluate and critique art, learn painting and sculpture techniques.
Junior year is the beginning of the DP level courses, students will continue to develop technical art skills with a focus on writing and critique.
Senior year students will continue to develop and refine their portfolio for their final IB assessment.
